Everyone,

Today we had an extended outage caused by a failure in DNS (Domain Name Service). For those of you interested, DNS provides the means for websites to use easy to remember names rather than hard to remember numeric IP addresses. When this service fails or has problems, as it did for us today, it makes it difficult or impossible to access the website you're interested in visiting.

I have been assured that the problem causing the outage is resolved, and we will be closely monitoring the site for anything out of the ordinary.

We are very sorry for the difficulties you may have had that were caused by the outage. Any service disruptions we detect are acted upon in as timely a manner as possible. We continuously monitor the site using a third party monitoring service and we're typically aware of problems the moment they occur. Unfortunately, fixing problems can sometimes take a bit more time.

Thank you.
