Hello,

I've been on lamictal 200 mgs for about 4 months now and I had been on Latuda but it made me have akathisia so we switched from that to seroquel. The past few weeks have been terrible. I've had severe, severe anxiety especially towards the end of the day. It usually ends up being accompanied by depression, or as in the last few days, a kind of restless irritability (hypomania, I'm guessing).

I really would like to know what kind of med anyone else with BPDII and anxiety has had luck on. I'm thinking of asking to switch the seroquel or at least add on risperidone. Any suggestions would be appreciated so I can discuss them w my doc.

Everyone is different, but I have had success with Abilify with Lamictal. It took me about four months to adjust to Abilify, but after I did it had been a pretty good drug, even if not perfect. I don't think there is a perfect drug. I had to take benztropine for akathisia for a time, but no longer need that.

11-30-2010 - Present: Omeprazole, 20 mg. Daily

MTGH131, sorry your having a difficult time with BP II and finding the right meds.

I really liked Trazodone (Desyrel) for anxiety, depression and anxiousness. Trazodone made me relatively calm and very sleepy, but that was a GOOD effect when the symptoms I was trying to address included manic relationship seeking and driving 90 MPH with my eyes closed.

Trazodone magically enabled me to drive at the speed-limit. I would like to get back on it so I could ride my moto more safely, but they don't sell it here in the DR.

I gained a lot of weight while taking Trazodone, because I just slept and sat on the couch but also ate ravenously. Yet, Trazodone did not cause me diabetes, as Seroquel very nearly did.

I don't think Trazodone is regarded as a mood-stabilizer, but rather as an anti-depressant and anti-anxiety.

I'd rather have a frontal lobotomy than a bottle in front of me.

Artista, I was looking for the list of your medication and saw that you are taking omeprazole. I took it and other medication for stomach trouble for around 12 years, until one day I was reading about natural healing and started taking " alkazone alkaline booster drop" it's a PH regulator, at first I took it every time I drunk water I could feel the relieve in the first week. I used to vomit almost everyday. Nowadays I hardly take it and I don't remember when was the last time I vomited. It's natural and have no problem with our bipolar medication. I bought it on amazon

I hope it helps you as much it helped me

Hi Isabelmatos-- thanks for the recommendation. I will give that a try. I am really wanting to get off omeprazole.
