I thought I had a fairly balanced diet but I've noticed that although the main food I eat is healthy, I always turn to chocolate and sugary foods for energy and cheering up when I'm tired or depressed.
Can anyone recommend a way to boost energy levels that doesn't involve sugary foods that will give you the buzzy high (not good with my anxiety... makes me very hyper-alert) and then a crash? I avoid caffeine but haven't yet managed to find a replacement...
Also, what foods/ eating habits are best for maintaing a stable mood?
I find that if I am happy I tend to crash quite badly later in the day.

Hi! I feel since I've changed my eating habits from high carb, high sugar/fat & caffeine, I feel so much better. With the help & guidance of my naturopath, my diet is mainly fruits & raw veggies (salads) with a little bit of protein. I also cut out refined sugars, white flour & excess salt, dairy & red meat. I also supplement with greens, Krill oil & Vit D. It has really helped me. Also for a pick me up without the crash afterward try Green tea or Yerbe Matte tea's. It's fantastic. Hope you can apply some of the info & feel better soon :).
