raw vegan is seriously one of the best ways to possibly eat, it's just a little difficult to do so. I would avoid the juices and shakes unless just after exercise - the lack of fiber won't leave you feeling full for very long. raw whole foods is the way to go - very low fat, moderate carb and protein in the form of fruits and vegetables, and lots of water (1 liter a day at least). If you find raw vegan a little difficult, feel free to mix in some lean animal protein such as plain/simple fish/chicken. the worst thing you can do is eat processed foods - a good general rule of thumb is to avoid stuff that comes from packages... eat things as close to their natural state as possible.... don't focus on low calorie processed foods (anything "diet" or "sugar free"), focus on raw whole natural fruits and vegetables with some whole grains (quinoa, farro, etc.) thrown in for good measure.
Nothing endures but change.
