Hi
The meds I take mostly keep me FROM being manic ~ Depakote & Seroquel. I've been more down than up for a long time now, although I can still have "moderately elevated" energy/mood, the racing thoughts are not nearly as bad.

I often wonder if when I'm mildly depressed I'm really closer to baseline...I have ADHD which in turn causes generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) I think. SO when my energy level is low I tend to think something is wrong automatically.

I don't take anti depressants bc the docs won't prescribe me them; they say the reason is bc I'm dx'd w/BP type1 & chances are that I'll become manic or extremely irritable. However, my new therapist says Celexa has worked for some w/my dx.

I still have a horrible time w/sleep though...Good Luck to you

i guess in that case, id rather be manic than depressed, at least it can be fun lol celexa has worked great for my depression though. i tried zoloft and that was BAD. so if you go the anti depressant route ever, id stay away from that.

Mir;

I take gabapentin (neurontin) throughout the day to help with mania. At bedtime I take two and that helps me fall asleep. I took celexa up until a month ago, but decided to try Cymbalta. Not sure what I think of it yet. I also take Abilify to help with the mania.

Just curious; why didn't you like zoloft? What other meds are you on aside from the celexa?
