I've been doing this for a little over a month. I took an overdose of trazadone on 4/19/2012. I don't know if it's from that or not but after "recovering" from that almost every night I go to sleep and within 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 hours I am awake again. I had, at the worst, been waking every 1 - 3 hours. Finally the last two nights, after the initial 1 1/2 - 2 hour initial wake, I slept 6 hours straight. It is quite maddening to sleep this way. I worry, first of all that it has to do with the trazadone o/d but more that it has to do with sleep apnea. I have had a low O2 sat at night in the past so have had to use oxygen so that is probably the next step. Has anyone else ever gone through a disturbed sleep pattern like this that went away on it's own. I should mention that insomnia and weird sleep patterns prolonged hyper and hypo sleep are common maladies for me. Thanks for listening and please share your stories.

Yes, I did have such a problem. Pdoc put me on Seroquel. I hated it. After about 7 months I weaned off of it and my sleep issue is now gone.

Funny you should say that castillo. Ironically with Seroquel XR I had only one sleep issue. I slept alright. In fact it's all I wanted to do! I slept up to 22 hours per day! Love every minute of it except that it ruined my life. I don't want to go back to that. I just want a happy medium. Tonight I am taking 2.5 mg. Melotonin at bedtime in addition to my meds. Standby.

I have been suffering much the same thing for the last few months. Even when my total hours sleeping is okay, I wake several times during the night. When I wake, I have to get up, I can not just stay in bed.

I have sleep apnea, use oxygen at night, and take seroquel, but these issues are long standing. I didn't have any trouble until recently.

My pdoc directed me to set a rigid schedule for myself. He wants me to take my seroquel at 5pm, go to bed at 9pm and set my alarm for 5am. I am a morning person so this works for me. But he also directed me to not get out of bed until the alarm rings. I just can't do that. I HAVE to get up.

During the first week of this regimen I was so tired I just drifted during the day. Then I decided on my own to try going to bed at eight. This worked for three days, only getting up once or twice a night and I felt refreshed in the morning. But then I was up several times again. I don't know what to do.

I am posting my chart, although it doesn't reflect the time I spend up during the night.
