Okay this might sound stupid, wierd, whatever..But..Here goes...

I've been having a lot of dreams lately, and I'm starting to think it's all the meds I am taking that are to fault(the mental health meds). And even if I haven't taken them(like say in the afternoon when I do occasionally nap), I have vivid good or vivid bad dreams. At night I have a hard time falling asleep due to the meds and then when I fall asleep the next morning when my husband wakes me up, I don't want to get up. Instead I continue right on sleeping as if he hadn't tried waking me up.

Seems to me that normal people would dream something and then when they awaken if even only for a few minutes, they tend to dream something else when they fall back to sleep. Seems as though I'm the exact opposite. I tend to continue the dream anyways.

When I have nightmares and I awaken from them, usually I am too scared to go back to sleep. I wake up and I cry a lot. Or sit straight up in bed or on the edge of bed and pant for ten to twenty minutes.

Now here's the stupid quesion...Why the heck am I dreaming like this and why are my dreams seeming to interact with the meds?

As I understand AnimeEmoGirl, dreaming is what happens when your unconscious and/or subconscious mind processes things when you are asleep because your psychological defenses are not active in the same way when you are asleep. It is quite common if you have been traumatized in some way that dreams about the traumatic experience happen when you are asleep. Since drugs like regular Seroquel helps you sleep at a deeper level or what is called REM sleep (Rapid Eye Movement) and this is when we dream. So indirectly, the medicine that helps you sleep makes you sleep deeply enough that you dream at night. Others may have differing views on this subject. Pleasant dreams,

Okay cool. I was just curious cuz I have been having a lot of abnormal dreams as of late, and I just needed to know if what I was going through was just huallucinations or something while sleeping or something.
