Hey guys! I'm new here and I was wondering what you guys do to cope with your anxiety besides medication and therapy? I know that there is meditation, mindfulness, etc. but I wouldn't mind hearing other ways to cope like, games, books, etc. You don't even have to share your own ways of coping if you don't feel comfortable. you can share ways that might seem helpful. Don't be shy! Thanks.

Your body always knows what it needs and when you slow down the mind we can hear the message it is giving you. Listen actively to the signals from your body each day and develop an open relationship between your body and mind, so that both may flourish.

I don't know why but I can cope with my anxiety easily. What I do is that I ignore my anxiety and doing something that I don't even know why I do it., breathe in breathe out, Fact-check my thoughts. Hope it helps you.

Exercising regularly, eating balanced meals, getting enough sleep, and staying connected to people who care about you are great ways to stave off anxiety symptoms.

I gave two therapy dogs, exercise several days a week. Anything from just a dog. Walk to a good hard jog by myself. Exercise helps me sleep better, as I'm on anxiety meds and often have sleep issues. I work a call center so stressful job also.

I'm in AA, so the best cure for my anxiety is to help another person. It doesn't have to be in recovery, but anytime I can help another human with anything, this gets me out of myself. When I'm not thinking of myself, my breathing slows down & my mind can focus on someone else. I don't give advice, but share my experiences. Getting enough sleep, though sometimes challenging, helps me to stay balanced. Also, connecting with my Higher Power and knowing deep down that whatever happens in my life, I created for a reason & my Higher Power supports me. There is always something I still need to heal or grow from. Knowing that everything I experience is a lesson or a goal I'm working towards, helps me manage my anxiety. The other tool I use regularly is writing in a journal and staying in an attitude of gratitude. I feel gratitude for the smallest things, like getting a close parking space (haha), as I'm permanently disabled. When I'm feeling grateful, I also feel peaceful & hopeful. When I'm peaceful & hopeful, I'm much less likely to experience a lot of anxiety. I hope that any of this is helpful.

Thank you for sharing your personal experience coffe1st it's very inspiring. This is very true. Switch your mentality from "I'm broken and helpless" to "I'm growing and healing" and watch how your life changes, for the better.
