I tried it, but I didn't get it set up right because the messages never came to my phone. I don't have the energy to fix it now. I'm working on buying a new to me (used) car. I haven't had one in 33 years so this is a big deal to me and my husband.

Hi janellehale4. I have not used text, mostly because I don't want to have any additional messages coming to my phone. I have gotten back in the habit of checking my email everyday so I get my reminders there and soon I should be able to remember to make my daily mood tracker entries without the reminders

Hey RoseSaylavie ~ I wish you great success getting you new vehicle, its exciting that after all this time you can get this done

Peace and stability to you both.

Hi Spott and janellehale4. I'm posting an update to my status here. My husband and I now own a used car. We have been without a car for over 30 years so we're pretty excited about this. It's a small SUV. We're going to move to another state about 5 months from now, and we needed a car so we could do that. Now we can. My next task is to drive around and learn how to drive this car. It's larger than the car I've been re-learning how to drive with.

CONGRATULATIONS, RoseSaylavie!!

Sounds like you have a lot of changes happening in your life.

Please be sure you are mindful of your mood during all these changes as it is very easy to miss mood changes when we are busy with so much going on.

We moved 2 years ago from Florida to Tennessee; it was a good move but change can be stressful and I did have some depression that was difficult to beat ~ I'm fairly stable right now

Once you figure out how to center your SUV in your lane, you'll be golden. You are doing awesome things ~ change isn't easy and, look at you, getting out there and taking the bull by the horns.

Thanks for the update ~ please keep me posted on your progress, both the driving and how your move is coming along

Peace!

Hi RoseSaylavie, I also extend congratulations to you. I agree with Spott, changes are difficult. For me, taking time to breathe and contemplate what I am going through helps. I also know that visualizing what will happen is helpful. Visualizing positive occurrences programs the mind for positive outcomes. I also have to acknowledge that things take a long time to do. For instance, getting ready for the day takes me about 1 -1/2 hours. This sounds ridiculous but it is true.

Spott, thanks for the reminder to monitor myself with all of these changes going on. I will do that. The last thing I need is an unsuspected mood swing.

janellehale4, it takes me longer than an hour and a half to get ready. I try to fit in meditation and a half-hour with a solar-spectrum light every fall and winter, which I combine with meditation. (I don't meditate for a half-hour!) If I only have an hour and a half, I feel rushed. then there's eating breakfast. I'm very fortunate; my husband cooks for the both of us.

I see I ought to give visualization a serious try. I let my mind go right to the negative. That isn't helpful; in fact, it's harmful. I'm tired of that.

Hey janellehale4 and RoseSaylavie,

While I no longer have to go to work, I know what it was like to need time in the morning to prepare for the day, both physically and mentally. I usually needed 1 1/2 - 2 hours to get my best start in the morning for work. No shame in the amount of time it takes ~ it's great that you take the time instead of rushing through the process and getting stressed before the workday even begins.

Prior to being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, I was doing yoga every morning and it was wonderful. I had relaxing, calming music on my computer that was set to my yoga routine so I didn't have to watch the clock, when each song started it was time for a different pose and when the music was over, so was the yoga ~ it was a very relaxing way to start my day.

I currently have no exercise routine and I've put on too much weight. However, I had been struggling with my mood (still getting it to a little better place) and I'm working on one thing at a time so I don't fail at everything.

First was my mood ~ I went back on my meds and have progressed from crying every day to only crying when it is appropriate for the situation. Monitoring my mood/meds on MoodTracker definitely helps me monitor my stability.

Now I'm working on my diet ~ just started the ketogenic diet and I'm hopeful I can lose about 40 pounds (although I'd be happy with 20, but 40 would be best). After some weight loss I will work on more steps in my day ~ walking is a great exercise

Visualization is difficult for me ~ maybe I'm just not doing it right, but I also go negative before positive.

Sooooo . . . here's to the happier, productive lives we all strive to have

May peace and stability always find you

Spott,

That is wonderful that you did yoga. Yoga is amazing. I used to alternate yoga and aerobic exercise. Then I felt I needed to change to only aerobic exercise. I have found that difficult to sustain. I am going back to alternating between yoga and aerobic exercise. It is like they each support each other.

Hey janellehale4!

Wow you have 2 forms of exercise ~ good for you. As stated I'm kind of out of exercise mode right now. However, I just found out I am hypothyroid and that may be affecting my mood, energy levels and most likely the excess pounds. I'm hopeful the thyroid medication will help me begin to feel up to exercise, cleaning, and being happier.

Exercise is good for the body, mind and soul ~ stay fit and try not too eat too much over the holiday ~ happy thanksgiving

I have been watching video series called "Women's health secrets". It is helpful to men and women. They talk a lot about estrogen and testosterone (that is a hard word to spell). The series is 9 episodes long. The information is spread throughout their first hand experience (and many other's experience) with women's health issues (hormone,PCOPS, painful menstruation). If you watch it, I suggest that when you watch episode 1 you forward to minute 54. That is where the true information is. The other stuff is testimonial. Here is the link. https://womenshealthvideoserie... Episode 4 is really helpful, no stuff to sell. Minute 1:16 and on is helpful. The basic stuff to learn is: healthy eating, detox, parasite cleanse and avoiding stress.
