I am about to undergo the process of getting this diagnosed, and am wondering what medications people are on, do you find them useful, and what are their side effects? I'm not sure what is out there.

Lithium works well. A lot of doctors will try to push the newest meds on you. I'd go with ones that have worked for years on people.
Current medications as of 05-26-2015
| 10-21-2011 - Present: | lithium carbonate, 450 mg. 2 x a day |
| 01-01-2014 - Present: | Neurontin, 300 mg. 3 x a day |
| 02-28-2014 - Present: | Thorazine, 200mg. 5 x a day |
| 01-20-2015 - Present: | promethazine, 20 mg. 4 x a day as needed |
