I'm on 5mg of it twice a day for anxiety. I started this medication awhile ago. Does anyone else take this? Positive effects/negative effects? What is the therapeutic dose for this medication?

Personally, I am taking meds for anxiety as well but not the same as yours.

Research studies have shown that Buspar works as well as benzodiazepines but with fewer side effects. Buspar is also not habit-forming like benzodiazepines are. In a study, Buspar worked as well as Xanax, but it resulted in fewer side effects as well as a lower risk for withdrawal symptoms. The more common side effects that can occur with the use of buspirone include dizziness, nausea, headache.

Yea, I was just wondering. I was hospitalized in June and was originally taking Inderal for anxiety/anxiety prevention. They decided to take me off that and put me on Buspar. The Inderal was working well for me but they said something about not wanting it to hinder my health. Even though I never had issues with Inderal in the past or with it affecting my health.
