Tonight was the 1st night of the 11th annual Alumni Reunion for the inpatient rehab I was in for 74days here in Orem, UT. It was an emotionally moving evening for me...I got to see some of my peers that went back to their lives, families, jobs, etc in the states they originally came from. Most are doing very well & that was uplifting for me to see & hear about. There are some famous people in the entertainment business attending as well but I don't think I'm supposed to mention their names. I came from the Berkeley/Oakland (East Bay) Area but decided it best for society & my health in general to stay. I don't have many friends here yet.

84 out 3,040 alumni, that we know of, have died from the disease of addiction & mental illness. Their memory was honored in a bell ringing ceremony.

The owners are wonderful & extremely rare people to have put up so much $mullah for such a place of healing to exist...I don't know if they make all that much money from running it. They are married couple & have another smaller facility in Sundance. They have made their money from the jewelry stores they own.

Which brings me to my point. In honor of the hard work the clinical director & the head of marketing have done over the past 10yrs the owners gave them each a long stem rose BUT they weren't just any old ordinary roses. They were dipped in 24karat gold! they were so beautiful & such an awesome gift. Who knows how much they're worth

I had never seen anything like that before

It sounds like it was a wonderful day. I'm glad you were able to join in the celebration of the folks who are in recovery, as you are one also. I celebrate you!
