Well, I went to my family doctor and asked him for medication for anxiety. I am currently on 900mg of Lithium but also has diabetis. I made a case for Zyprexa for my wonkie mood swings but was denied because of my diabetis. I was prescribed clonasapam .5 mg but have has nasty mood swings and quite miserable. Actually I wanted to hurt my self on this medication. Suicide is the proper name. I am going to give these mediction back to my GP. The only issue I have is my pdoctor is 6 weeks from now. Has anyone had an adverse reaction using cloasopam .5 mg using Lithium!

Current medications as of 05-01-2009
04-22-2009 - Present: lithium, 600 mg. once daily

General practioners usually will not do psych drugs except for minor doses of antidepressants and low doses of antianxiety meds like clonazepam. If you really want to hurt yourself---PLEASE go to the ER and TELL THEM HOW YOU ARE FEELING. I don't think your lithium is therapeutic yet and you need real professional help until it is. Just clonazepam won't help much until your lithium is therpeutic in your body. You definitely need a psychiatrist to see you sooner rather than later. CALL and TELL them how you feel or as I said, please go to the ER.

I had that same reaction to the klonopin.....I didnt know that was a kind of side effect until there were some cuts.......some blood and an almost baker act that I wiggled out of. I went to the pdoc and showed her what I had done....she said "I forgot to tell you it can drive some people psychotic".........I thought that was a huge thing to leave out for me. I discontinued that and so life goes on today but yep that stuff sucked the big one for me.

From my experience, and my research, if you take klonopin/clonazepam, the first couple weeks tend to be the worst with regard to side effects. I had very few problems with 0.25mg twice daily, but my friend was severely depressed on 0.5 mg once daily.
