hi,

WELL, today is my birthday and I was just thinking... I can't remember if I was 'diagnosed' and on meds last year? I'm not sure if that relly matters, but.. It's buggin' me!

Losing ones'' sense of time is a depressive symptom or a manic symptom? - And what about short term memery- - Does any one else walk in circles trying to discover an item they JUST had? - That happens to me often.. . I'm embarassed to admit.

thnx

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

Losing sense of time for me happens more often when manic but I don't know if that's common. I have a terrible sense of time all the time. It's just worse when I'm manic.
I also have short as well as long term memory issues. That seems to be a BP trait too. Don't be embarrassed. I'm sure most of us have spent a lot of time looking for something we had in our hands "just a minute ago". I know I have.
I also have anomia. So I'm just a mess all over when it comes to memory. lol

Happy Birthday.
I have LOTS of trouble remembering WHEN things happened, tho' I thinkI 'm pretty good about WHAT happened. I write/journal a lot. Usually I'll fix chronologies by relating to other events.. was it before my diagnosis (about to be five years) was it before or after I quit taking meds for a year..was I married.. was I still in school.. who were the roomies? Yeah. Dates.. If I can pin it down to a year,I'm good; if I can name the month, I can usually find a written account if I need confirmation. My spouse, on the other hand, forgets NOTHING (and forgives less.)

Medications for May 2009
10-09-2007 - Present:Depakote, 1000 mg. 2 x daily
11-09-2008 - Present:Wellbutrin, 150 mg. daily

I have problems too, especially when I'm manic. I can only vaguely remember what I did during my first full blown manic episode 3 years back.

I find that right now I can remember stuff if I really try. I usually have to stumble upon something that triggers my memory. Last week I was trying desparately to remember what I did the previous Monday in a class and I couldn't. It was really frustrating to me.

I have another problem too. I won't go to the store on my own. About 3 months ago I went to Target for something. Once I got in there I just started wandering around, blankly looking for whatever it was I wanted. I felt lost and scarred. This was before I went to my psychiatrist. It was actually the day that led me to make the call because it scarred me so bad.

Medications for May 2009
04-01-2009 - Present:Zyrtec, 10 mg. Once at night
04-20-2009 - Present:Depakote, 1500 mg. Once Daily at bedtime
