I am new to this site, but not this illness. My depression has returned and it really scares me. I get very irritated and my husband always thinks its him. I am trying to gain control of my mood.If it were only that easy. I don't want to go out or answer the phone.I haven't felt this way for quite a long time. I thought maybe by venting, I can gain some control or insight. I just want to hide, and cry.I have had major depression for years and my meds had been working well, just until the other day. Now I am just trying to hold on.

Daizeejane: I have so much been where you are, well controlled on meds until suddenly not. The best advice I can offer is call your psychiatrist (pdoc)today, don't wait until it gets worse. The sooner you are seen and have your meds fixed up, the better. Abrupt failure of meds, especially with irritation as a symptom, is not good and means you need to be seen as soon as possible. Be sure and tell your pdoc office what has happened so they get you in promptly.

Its not you, its your meds that are not working properly, this is not something you can fix with willpower. I know, I tried for far too long and suffered when I did not need to.

Also, welcome to the site this is a good place with lots of helpful people posting, and just posting does help.

Yes, I thought about meds too. Are you taking medication? Maybe you need a re-adjustment. I also suggest you call your pdoc and make an appointment.
