Meghan,
I know what it feels like to not be able to concentrate. I went to college for a semester and whenever i would get depressed i felt like i couldn't even function. I would stay in bed all day, miss my classes and just not give a crap. I couldn't concentrate on myself let alone boring school work. I ended up figuring out i just hated school in general since grade school and am now going into the military. I would say that having friends who are there for you is one of the best things you can have. I never had that. I would try to get work done but just end up staring at the book with nothing running through my head.
So anyway i would find someone who cares a lot about you. Ask them to help you through this. Having a friend is the best thing to keep you away from being alone.
Find something to stimulate your mind. Anything, find something (and i know you probably think you don't care about anything right now) that brings out some kind of emotion in you. Ex.( help someone do something, volunteer. This will give you some positive reinforcement and elevate your mood cause your doing something for someone else).
Dont slouch around. It may feel like you just want to be absent from the world but take a walk, do anything constructive (no matter how little) .
Something that works for me is getting less sleep. Try 5-7 hours of sleep. Wake up have a healthy whole grain meal with fruit. Have a big glass of water and a cup or two of coffee and you should feel great.
Find things to make you laugh (you tube funny or watch stand up) Or hang out with someone funny. ( i always laugh at myself when im down cause there's usually no reason for me to be down. I just picture myself looking down from someone else's perspective and say, man something really bad must have happened to him.)
Some videos i find funny
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v... Youtube is being really slow so im sure you get the idea.
Anyway good luck and know that you will get through it.
