Hi everyone,

My thyroid level blood tests always come back normal. My Pdoc said some people with normal range thyroid levels can benefit from a small dose of Thyroxine. He started me on 50mcg as a bit of an experiment to see what would happen. I had been struggling to get through each day without falling into a deep afternoon sleep of 3 to 4 hours. I was suffering exhaustion daily. I wasn't making lunch for my husband or helping him off to work in the morning. I felt so bad that I wasn't looking after him properly. He would come home from work and cook the evening meal. That was a month ago.

Now I leap out of bed at 5.00am and wake my husband with a cuppa. I make his lunch and see him off to work. I've only had one afternoon sleep all month and that was today. I think that was a sleep catch up because the last three days have involved driving to the city and meeting a website deadline. At night I cook tea for my husband and myself.

Another good thing about me being better is that my husband is very sick with the flu. I have been able to bring him freshly squeezed lemon juice with raw honey and weak tea. I've been able to bring him soup and pain killers. If he had become sick last month, I couldn't have looked after him. I would have been weighed down with guilt about it and I would have suffered anxiety and panic attacks.

I've also noticed that my anxiety and irritability don't seem to be there much.

What I will say about my chart is that I have missed my meds lots of times this month. I don't recommend missing meds but I had some things going on. I had a medical procedure, one night I had very bad nausea, another night I was so exhausted when I arrived home that I went straight from the car to my bed. I don't usually miss my meds. This has been a busy and unusual month.

Thyroxine might be a help to other people suffering with exhaustion etc. It has definately helped me and I hope it will help others.

Kind regards to everyone,
Kelpie
