Im not sure if this is a problem really but i am bipolar 2, rapid cycling.
Im finding many days i am eating for the sake of eating and it is always sugary stuff.
Im wanting to lose some weight but find trying to avoid eating rubbish really hard and i dont know why i do it.

Is this something my pdoc could help me with?

I am overweight by about 2 stone and it makes me feel so crap that i avoid clothes shopping.

I know what you mean. Lately I feel like all I want to do is eat the wrong foods. One thing that helps me is to keep a stock of the foods I am allowed to eat so that I never feel hungry. Foods like apples, celery, carrots, peas, bananas, and oranges. Or whatever lower calorie foods that I can think of. I know that raw fruits and veggies aren't always practical especially if your health prevents ingesting raw foods but I swear I would eat nothing but crap if I didn't keep those things around. Letting yourself get too hungry Is always a bad idea. I wish I knew if a pdoc could help with the diet. I know there are no pills out there that effectively treat it. Topiramate made me lose weight but it did nothing for my moods. Once you get in the habit of eating healthy you feel better and stop craving the junk food. Unfortunately my life is full of temptations. The staff room is always full of crap food because someone is always bringing it in. Halloween is coming up. I ate a whole bag of those evil Halloween kisses. It is always such a struggle.

I know this feeling well also!
My weakness is stuff like fries and quesadillas.

I am rather uptight about my weight as it makes me VERY depressed.
in the last 6 months i lost 20lbs through proper diet and exercise
I had such a good healthy diet but have now been back to my beloved quesadillas.
The one thing that saves me is counting calories and taking it one day at a time.
there's loads of websites for calorie counting.
it's good b/c even if I have just fries for lunch or even just candy (I love Snickers bars) I know I can correct it with dinner. Maybe not perfectly but at least a little.

I think it is about finding what motivates you. it doesn't always work but some days is better than none. :}
