I just started taking this supplement that apparently is an amino acid extracted from green tea. It is supposed to increase your GABA naturally and so far (one day in) I have noticed my anxiety is somewhat reduced from it. I haven't seen anyone post about this supplement though. Anyone used it?

I tried it for awhile but it was too expensive in the doses needed to be effective. I have taken GABA for over 2 years and it has been one of my miracle meds to control racing thoughts. At first I needed 2000mg per night, but now with other adjustments I only take 1000mg. About 6 times a year I will take just 25mg Seroquel when unavoidable severe social rythym dispruptions trigger an acute manic episode since it is cheaper than taking a massive dose of GABA. I also had to go back on a low dose of Vyvanse for ADD since the natural alternatives are way more expensive with no insurance covering them.

Sorry I have been so busy I haven't checked in here for awhile. (In case you were wondering why my chart isn't up to date, I track my data on paper and only enter them online every 2 weeks)

My daughter has ADHD and we are trying this out now. I'm not sure if her dosage is enough. Anywhere I can find good dosage suggestions??

I went to Dr. Amen's website and she tested to be the "Ring of Fire" ADHD type, which is typical ADD PLUS mood swings (my genetics for her sadly)... and it said Stimulants were not good for this type.

I will touch base down the road to see how it goes. So far she says she can't tell a big difference, but again, not sure if I'm giving her enough. All suggestions helpful, but from what I'd read about L-Theanine it sounds wonderful!!!

If you can afford it, it is definitely what I would give my child. I would increase dose very slowly. You and her teachers will probably notice the difference before she does. I wish I could remember the name of the doctor who has written so much about it. I think he has been on Dr.Phil so if you google Dr.Phil and L-Theanine together maybe you'll eventually get his site. I use to have all the data in print but gave it to a friend for her child.

Please do keep us posted on her progress.
