Apparently the effects of Omega 3 on the brain are quite powerful. Does anyone take Omega 3, and if so do you find it beneficial to the manageability of your condition?

I will be beginning to take a high strength fish oil on Monday, and will be charting any negative, neutral or positive effects. (I'm hoping for the latter!)

Medications for May 2010

I started taking the Omega 3-6-9 complex two days ago. I am going to be charting mine too. I also started a sub lingual B-Complex and Kelp. I am currently taking Lamictal @ 100mg am and 50 mg pm. And a children's vitamin. It's what we had at the house. It has extra V-C. I have never taken vitamin's regularly and am attempting to start eating better and exercise.

I chose these vitamins b/c I wanted to start slow. There seems to be alot of positives about the Omega-3 and B-Vitamins. I picked up Kelp by accident thought it was something else and did some research on it last night. After reading up on it I found that it is supposed to help with some mild symptoms I am having.

So far I feel like the fogginess has been better but, I am still struggling with memory problems. It's only two days though so am not sure what to expect.

My main issue was really bad forgetfulness and my clinic lowered my dosage of the Lamictal which seemed to help. The short term memory stuff really bugs me and we have a family of five so I need to be able to remember important stuff. I thought the vitamin's and eating better might help. I will be talking to clinic at the end of this month.

Just a note: These are only things I am trying in no way by any means am I suggesting that anyone try the same thing. We are all so very very different.

Good luck to you! Cheers!

I've been taking Omega 3 for years and I also take Flaxseed Oil. The improvement in mood was so gradual that I didn't notice it but the drop in mood is noticable whenever I don't take it for a few days. It is only one piece of the mood puzzle but it is one of the first pieces to start with because it is essential to our overall health. It does thin the blood some so those on blood thinners need to talk with their doctors.
