I know it is not a prescription med, but I was wondering if anyone else has any personal experience with it. After doing a lot of research I finally tried just one 400mg dose yesterday morning and finally had 2 good days. My biggest problem is with depression and my hypomanias are usually not the out-of-control kind so I thought it was worth the risk of triggering a manic episode.

Well the first time I took the SAM-e, I had had a really bad day the day before. I felt the "cloud" lift off my brain about 45 minutes after taking it and had 2 good days on just the one 400mg dose.

The 2nd time a few days later the effect was not a snoticable but I was not as depressed to start with.

The 3rd time about a week later, I didn't notice much of an effect.

I'm going to order the 200mg pills because I'm afraid that the 400mg could easily trigger hypomania.

Tomorrow I plan to take another 400mg dose.

I just checked my journal and realized that I had forgotten about the 2nd dose which also gave me a good 2 days just not quite as good as the 1st dose.
