New med Pristiq...anyone tried it??

Hello, my daughter had a recent med change that went straight from 40mg Prozac daily to 50mg Pristiq daily. Has anyone tried Pristiq yet and if so, how did it affect you or your patient/loved one??? She is 16yrs old.

I am weaning off of Pristiq. About 12 weeks after I started taking the medication I started getting severe sweats off and on all day. then I started getting nausea and dizziness in my forehead. My doctor told me that the symptoms were from the medication. She put me on Neurontin to help me come off of the Pristiq. When I started to wean off of it I started togo through withdrawels. I still got sweats, dizziness, and the nausea went away. I will be on the Neurontin for about another week.
My doctor toid me that I am the first patient she had that had these side effects. The commercials on tv say that nausea, sweats, and dizziness are the common side effects. I hope you daughter is doing well on the Pristiq.

Thanks for the reply, she is now off the Pristiq, she also complained of some of those side effects and she said she felt better on the Prozac. She was switched back to the Prozac and she seems better now, More like the little girl I knew before.
