Looking up about meds.

Hello,
Recently I went to my doctor and talked about going on medication for the rest of my uni time so i can cope the stress/anxiety/depression at home and at school. My doctor gave me two type that i can choose from which is Fluoxetine and Escitalopram (Lexapro). I googled it and read a bit about it. But it got too confusing (even on wikipedia) so i thought I might ask people if anyone used any of above and if possible give me a more simple explanation about the two.

I'd love to help you out, but thats something you're doctor should have thoroughly discussed with you and I haven't been on either of them.

Prozac is a good drug, however it depends what you're using it for. I used to take it to overcome bulimia and it really helped me. I can't really say it helped me with anything other then that. I am bipolar and didn't know it at the time and the prozac made my moods completely chaotic!
I know people who have taken lexapro and have really liked it. You should go with that one if you're using it for major depression.

| 07-01-2009 - Present: | Zoloft, 100mg. Once a day |

I used a website called crazy meds.org(i think..google it). I read alot about alot of different medications and alot of the side effects that go with them. It really helped me get thru the hardest times when I didn't know what to expect, and when my pdoc wouldn't or couldn't answer my questions. It was a great site for me.
