klonopin is like a miracle drug sometimes, but it has a dark side. it will always stop working after a point and you will need to raise the dose again. the problem with that is that it is VERY difficult to get off of it - in fact, if you stop it suddenly it can kill you.
i took two years to get myself safely off klonopin, under a doctor's supervision. it was a horrible experience but i am SO glad i did it. i have to take a bunch of stuff now to be able to sleep, which isn't fun. but i found a SUPPLEMENT that works just as well as klonopin fornthe anxiety (it takes a few days to start working though.) it's called INOSITOL. maybe it can help.you too.
but to answer your question, 2mg is not a lot, in the grand scheme of things. just remember that you will have to increase the dose again when it stops working, and then again and again. and the higher your dose, the longer it will take to eventually get off (think 1 year per mg, to withdraw safely.)
if you decide to stay on it, consider talking to your doc about having an extra supply of pills on hand in case of emergency - for example, where i live we had a huge storm last year that knocksd out all the power, and the pharmacies were closed, and anyone who was due for a klonopin refill at that time was simply screwed. it is NOT a drug you want to run out of under any circumstances!
it really angers me that doctors never discuss these issues before prescribing klonopin. and drug makers only have to demonstrate efficacy to get FDA approval... they don't do studies on withdrawal. some doctors don't even know about the dangers.
