Let me state the main question first, then I will provide relevant details.

I took only one Lexapro pill on a Sat night, and on Monday morning I am still overwhelmed with suicidal thoughts, including detailed plans and a written note, that just won't go away.
How long before it is gone?

Details: I went to a psychiatrist for persistent sleep problems. He prescribed a sleeping aid (he still has not provided the name) to be taken at the same time as lexapro.
The next day, I was profoundly exhausted and terribly dizzy, along with the suicidal obsession.
The following day the obsession is still there, but the energy is better.
I have not taken any medication other than paracetamol (for the throbbing headache), but the suicidal thoughts just won't quit.

When will these clear up? It is damn near unbearable.

you need to call and let your doctor know how you are feeling please talk to someone . I don't know how long lexapro stays in your system did a internet searchhttp://www.ask.com/quest...

How Long Does It Take Lexapro to Leave Your System?
The estimated half life of Lexapro is 30 hours per gram. A light 10 milligram dose would, therefore, take 300 hours to leave the system - or nearly two weeks. Despite this lengthy half life time, it should always be taken as directed with the proper dosages.
