Has anyone tried this combination and if so how was it? Psych thinking of trying it if my increase of Tegretol doesn't work,as I'm at the top end of levels to prescribe. I've tried Lithium and Quetiapine and both didn't suit me for different reasons, Lithium made me very ill and Quetiapine caused huge weight gain. Since having weight issues is another of my problems I'd rather not take something that will make me gain huge amounts of weight, though I know this is not a big issue to some,it is to me.
Thank you in advance for any replies.

I've never been on this combination of meds, but I have had exp with Lamictal. Lamictal really didn't do much for me. Maybe it helped sometimes while I had been on it, but then after awhile the half-life wore off and it stopped working.

I've been on Seroquel, too. The effects lasted longer for me than some of the pills I had taken. At the time I had been taking it, I had no problems with weight gain. None. After awhile of increasing and decreasing the dose, my shrink(at that time) and I decided it was most definitely for the best that we try something else.

I have been on Lithium before, as well. It worked great for me at the time I had been on it, but after awhile I felt the effects of it just not doing its job. I ended up taking more than I had intended to. Eventually this lead my mind to making me believe I was "addicted" to it, when in fact I wasn't, and I was just taking too much(unintentional OD, I think it's called?). I ended up having someone help me get to the ER so I could get put on admit right away and see about getting on something different. The exp, to say the least, was NOT a good one, in the end for me with Lithium. I don't think I would ever want to try and go back to that medication.

Good luck with ur medications and I hope they work well for u this time around.
