I made the mistake over the past month of not taking my med like I was told. Thinking I could do every-other-day...but after finding out recently about my BPII I know I can not do that......I then decided to take my meds like I should....however, my sleep is the craziest it has ever been.
Its like I never get 'real' sleep....only like I'm cat napping, you know?
I'm very tired all the time & I don't know how to get myself to get 'real' sleep. My sleep at best is not even worth really noting.....
thanks for your help.

Medications for May 2011

new here, but not new to problems with this. Trying to know what to do now that I knew what is 'wrong'

Hi, do you mind me asking what your sleep/wake cycles are like?, do you go to bed and wake you at the same time?. Routine is very good to help with sleep patterns, unless you can't even get to sleep in the first place, i know it may sound mad but there are medications that can help you sleep as well as lifting your mood, for instance i take mirtazapine to help me drift off to sleep. If a routine doesn't help maybe think about asking your doctor for advice?

I take seroquel to help me sleep and to keep my moods in check. I seem to sleep ALL the time now. At least I haven't been hypomanic in a long time.

My heart goes out to you Bruisin. Like Ojee I too take Seroqil but have always had trouble keeping my wake up and go to bed routine in check. That is the key. The hard part is making yourself stay in bed when you are not tired and/or getting up even when you feel like crap and are exhausted. It's the only way that works. The latter problem is the worst for me. Sleep is my refuge and hiding place. I think I am addicted to the "nothing-ness" (not having to deal with life) and whatever chemical is released when sleeping. I also just "cat nap". I'm grateful for whoever used that term. The pdoc always asked me if I'm sleeping or just laying there. I say "I doze" but the "cat nap" term describes it so much better. Let us know how you are doing Bruisin (Ojee as well).
