Hi...I ran into this forum so I thought I'd ask a question...I am 54 years old...I have been in menopause since I was 45 (young) I went to my gyn to ask why I still get the symptoms of my period...When I was menstruating I had what they thot was PMS but now realize it was PMDD...I still get cramps...get constipated...get irritable...don't sleep...crave carbs and retain water for 3 weeks + or - then just like when I had my period I empty out of bowel and fluid..the cramps go away and I am happy as a lark...for about 5 days then it is back to usual....I take 200 mg of lamictal and 10 mg of lexapro...anyone have the same issue???

I hate seeing posts that no one has commented on, so even though I'm not experiencing the same thing, I still wanted to write something.

You'll have to excuse my ignorance and I apologize if this sounds wrong or stupid or anything, but have you asked your gyn if a hysterectomy would solve the problem? Or at least help it? I would imagine it would at least help with the cramping (since the muscle doing the cramping would no longer be there).

Does your gyn think the early start of your menopause may be a symptom of something else (something that could be causing your problems)?

Sorry I'm not more help!
