BTW: S/W/M 34 - In 2006, I was assaulted and sustained a TBI.

My symptoms include memory loss and difficulty with concentration. Verbal communication can be challenging sometimes, while suddenly becoming unable to quickly respond. This makes me very anxious and seems to perpetually mandate a dysfunctional social life. Recovery is slow. Dealing with my symptoms is very frustrating.

Hi zlien.....What is TBI if you dont mind me asking. Not sure what it means. Now what I am dealing with Bipolar 2 and Anxiety I do have difficulty with concentration and verbal communications. Mine has to do with using the wrong word when I am speaking or getting stuck and cant get the words out. It is frustrating to me as well. I am hoping the meds will get straight to help home with the issues. Keep the postive thoughts coming.

Hello father4us. Thank you for replying. TBI = traumatic brain injury. I get stuck too sometimes, while having problems with finding the right words to use while speaking. While stuck, the anxiety increases and it triggers my flight reaction.
I understand that some physicians prescribe amphetamines to aid in this condition. I do not consider taking amphetamines a solution, but another problem in itself. I like to stay positive. Positive thinking can help heal the mind and body.

Zlien- I have TBI too, with a lot of the same sx. Hard to write, talk, see (my eyes don't do right anymore) and put things together. It's awful. They put me on so many meds and I did so much therapy just to learn it probably won't go away. It is so sad to me to think I'm not going to ever be the same person I used to be. Talking to others who have recovered keeps me positive though. Has it improved any since you posted this?
